Who are you?
My name is Tamara and I’m only human being.
What are you most convinced of?
I’m convinced of the volatility of beliefs.
What gives you the most joy?
Do what I want.
How did you find yourself?
My search for myself is still ongoing and I think will continue throughout my life, but I feel that this path of search goes through art.
Do you have a real-life situation that inspired your work?
Almost all of my work takes inspiration from real life.
Often I am inspired by details or real objects in their modified state.
For example, a broken cup or moldy food can be the start of a new idea.
What makes you angry?
I'm angry because I can't get a kitten.
What is/are the strangest situation that happened to you?
Sleep paralysis.
What do you think about the interpretation of art? Do you want your art to be interpreted?
I think the art speaks for itself. The important thing is that it tells the story itself without any third-party interpretations. For me it’s more considerable to learn to listen and feel art than to explain it.
What do you think of the Susan Sontag’s phrase: ”In place of a hermeneutics we need an erotics of art”?
I think that art always appears before us in a naked form, and nudity here is irrational, emotions and feelings without subsequent reasonable interpretations and the search for meaning, which often distorts and leads us away from art itself.
What would be your perfect environment for making art?
Being completely alone at the time of creation.
If you could choose a historical period and be there with the help of a time machine - what kind of time and place would it be?
I would like to be out of time and space.
What is your favorite place that inspires you the most?
The whole world.
In this world everything can be an inspiration, anywhere and anytime.
Where do you work? Is it connected with art?
I also do interior design and 3D visualization, but this activity is more mundane for me.
How do you come up with the images you want to create?
For me, it is very exciting to combine opposite meanings and visually talk about what doesn’t fit into ordinary words and forms. A couple of objects are enough to get carried away with this game, in which I can create something unusual for perception.
What is your strength?
My strength is in truth.
